The Historic Hotel Alex Johnson is a luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown Rapid City. Since opening its doors on July 1, 1928, the 143 room smoke-free hotel has played host to several presidents, countless celebrities, and a few spirits; of its own. Adding to the hotel luxury is a superb lobby with baby grand piano and a spectacular new ballroom. The hotel features a restaurant, coffee shop, bar/lounge, mercantile, salon, spa, meeting facilities, catering services and fitness center. Airport Shuttle available via Rapid Shuttle from Rapid City Airport to hotel. Guest will be charged $12 for shuttle use upon check-in. Room amenities include plush pillow top beds, 42 inch; flat screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, HD channels, AM/FM radios with iPod docks, and luxury bath amenities. General Policy
Book now through June 16th, 2021. After June 16th rooms are subject to rate change and based on availability.
Written Cancellation Policy
Cancellations can be made outside of 72 hours of arrival without penalty. Cancellations inside of 72 hours of arrival are subject to a one night fee charged by the hotel. Modifications made outside of 72 hours of arrival can be made through Black Hills Vacations by calling 800-400-6194. Inside of 72 hours of arrival you must contact the Alex Johnson Hotel directly at 605-342-1210.
Written Deposit Policy
One night deposit taken by the hotel at the time of booking. Final payment due upon arrival.

4 pm MST A credit card is required at check-in to cover incidental charges. Property amenities are subject to change. Hotel photos representative only.

Pets Policy
This is a pet-friendly property which welcomes animals in select pet-designated rooms. Animals must not be left alone, and owners are responsible for any damages. The nonrefundable fee is $50 per night. Please contact the hotel directly to request one of the designated pet rooms.
